Michel Bragança (2000) is a painter and artist with a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto. In his authorship practice, there is a need to define who he is as he exists, so this has been a constant area of research and the motive behind his ontological questioning and introspective process, which in turn is linked to his artistic practice.
They recently exhibited at Espaço Mira (2024) and at the Árvore Cooperative (2023), as well as at the Faculty of Fine Arts (2023) and recently integrated into the public collection of the Porto City Hall, through the Porto Municipal Galler.
After completing his degree, he dedicated himself to studio practice, exploring how, in painting and images, when related to one another, establish dialogues that differ from what they originally are, and the construction of narratives, with this being his starting point.

Artist Statement:
The need to define my being and identity has been a constant search and motif that drives me towards ontological questioning and introspection. In searching to understand my definition of "Being", I find how my own identity and existential placement exist in a social world. The search for those samenesses or likenesses work to be projections of my own experiences and as such externalize and crystalize a reason for my being, as a being in the world.
